PROGRESS REPORT - CRPP
The CRPP Lausanne progress report for June to November 1985 informs on work performed in the fields of: Physics of confinement and heating in Tokamaks (TCA Alfven wave heating; upgrading of TCA; work for JET; TCV Tokamak; MHD modelling of confinement; and: RF theory); RF Technology (Quasi-optical gyrotron development); it also reports on a new diagnostics development: Ion temperature measurement in TCA by Thomson scattering of far infrared radiation, and on a systematic study of the heating by ExB-o rotation of a plasma column. The PIREX II semi-annual report 1985/2 describes progress made on the experimental hall, and the state of affairs reached concerning PIREX plug and irradiation head, and reports on a joint experiment set up with LAMPF/Los Alamos, U.S.A. which is intended to advance on the dosimetry program necessary for PIREX. The SULTAN-CH progress report (June to November 1985) lists as major accomplishments: Heat treatment of three stage flat cable; first process (brazing) for cable fabrication for Sultan 12 Tesla coil finished and second process (soft soldering) started; power supply (6.5kA) for 12 Tesla insert coils ordered, and wire production for NET full size cable initiated.
