INTEGRATED PEST CONTROL IN OLIVE GROVES. PROCEEDINGS OF AN INTERNATIONAL MEETING ORGANIZED JOINTLY BY CEC, FAO AND IOBC AT PISA (I) ON APRIL, 3-6, 1984.
The volume contains the proceedings of a meeting organized jointly by the E.C., F.A.O. and I.O.B.C., and centered on diseases of the olive tree and pertinent methods and means of control, including integrated pest control. Experts from the various sectors concerned with olive growing participated in the defence of the olive tree: examination of animal and vegetal harmful species, defining the role, relative importance and control systems proposed from an ecological viewpoint of respect for the agro-ecosystem. 104 experts, representing 15 countries and 4 international organizations, took part; the subjects of greatest importance which were dealt with mainly concerned: Biological and ecological aspects of olive pests; population dynamics; pest - plant relationships; crop loss assessment; and: strategies of pest management systems. Papers presented and accepted have been printed in extenso, the volume also presents the results and recommendations formulated by the experts at the end of the meeting.
