INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM MODELS FOR COMPUTER AIDED FAULT TREE ANALYSIS
Models are discussed for analysing the reliability of instrumentation and control loops in chemical process plants. The models are used in a computer code for interactive fault tree construction and evaluation (CAFTS Code). The paper first briefly describes the CAFTS method and the modular component models used in that method. The development of a library of such models for instrumentation systems is then discussed. An example of the application of the models to a real system is given.
