Abstract

The aim of the contract was to control, on a scientific plan, a system of space heating by heat pumps on an undergraound aquifer: the heliogeothermal doublet. This system is an answer to the problem that would generate an important heat pump exploitation of aquifers (with low regional velocity) in urban areas. It has been applied to the case of a regional aquifer of the Parisian region, at 80 md depth, 13 degrees C, which flow rate per well (about 60,80 m**3/h) makes it attractive both on technical and economic plans, for collective buildings (200 appartments and more) and office buildings. The system started operating in March, 1983: the heat pumps work as previously; the wind collectors have lower performances, mainly because of wind velocity which is half the meteorological values taken into account in the design calculations. During winter 1983 - 1984, 90% of the heat were delivered by the heat pumps with an average COP of 3.4 (taking into account pumpage and auxiliary energy.
