Abstract

The report describes the work carried out for certification of the catalytic concentration of gamma glutamyltransferase ((-Glutamyl)-Peptide: Amino Acid - Glutamyltransferase, EC 2.3.2.2.), (GGT) in a lyophilized solution of partially purified GGT from pig kidney dissolved in a bovine serum albumin matrix. The preparation has been shown to be homogeneous, and the loss of activity on storage at -20 degrees C is predicted to be less than 0.2 % per annum on the basis of accelerated degradation studies. The catalytic concentration of GGT in samples of the reconstituted material is certified to be 86.8 U/1 reconstituted solution according to the IFCC recommended method at 30 degrees C.
