THE RESULTS OF THE 1984 - 1985 ROUND-ROBIN CALIBRATION OF REFERENCE SOLAR CELLS FOR THE SUMMIT WORKING GROUP ON TECHNOLOGY, GROWTH AND EMPLOYMENT
In view of the necessity for common evaluation methods for photovoltaic devices, the Technology, Growth and Employment Working Group of the Summit initiated 1984 a Round Robin Calibration of Reference Solar Cells in the frame of a Collaborative Project in Photovoltaic Solar Energy. This calibration campaign was performed successfully in 1984 - 1985 and included 18 crystalline and amorphous silicon solar cells from 5 different manufacturers. All summit countries contributed to the calibration, involving 8 experienced laboratories. The Joint Research Centre of the Commission of the European Communities, Ispra Establishment, performed the initial and final calibration and served as the operating agent. This report presents the results of the calibration and describes details of the calibration techniques used at the Joint Research Centre.
