FUSION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME - SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT - OCTOBER 1984 - MARCH 1985
In the current Fusion Technology Programme of the EC, the KfK association is working on 16 R&D contracts and on system studies, preparation of the follow-on programme and planning of test facilities. Most of the work is strongly oriented towards the Next European Torus where the association is working on NET study contracts. The present report reviews the progress of the work under contract with the CEC from October 1984 to March 1985 concerning: Blanket design studies (B1); development of computational tools for neutronics (B2); corrosion of structural materials in flowing Li-17Pb-83 (B6); tritium extraction based on use of solid getters (B9); ceramic breeder materials (B11-B16); LCT project (M1); development of High Field composite superconductors (M3); superconducting poloidal field coils (M4); post irradiation testing of stainless steel (MAT 1); ceramics for first wall protection, insulators and windows (MAT 6/MAT 13); radioactive effluents: behaviour of gaseous Tritium in the air - , plant - , soil - system (S+E1); accident analysis (S+E2); fuel clean-up system (T1); development of Tritium decontamination systems (T5); industrial development of large components for vacuum systems (T6). The report also gives a survey of the status of the studies for NET/INTOR, and contributes a study on the development of ECRH power sources at 150 gHz.
