NON-LINEAR STUDIES OF MIRNOV OSCILLATIONS IN THE DITE TOKAMAK - EVIDENCE FOR A STRANGE ATTRACTOR
A dimension estimate given by the correlation exponent nu of Grassberger and Procaccia is calculated for the DITE tokamak using magnetic field fluctuation data; nu approaching limit2.1 is found in the ohmic discharge considered. Such values suggest that DITE behaviour in the Mirnov frequency range may be described by a small number of processes, and an attempt is made, employing bispectral analysis, to identify these.
