IMPROVING THE SUPPLY OF INFORMATION USING NEW TECHNOLOGIES - THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY APPROACH
The Commission of the European Communities is supporting the European Information market by a 5-year Programme (1984 - 1988) for the Development of the Specialized Information Market in Europe, adopted, with a budget of 25 million ECU, in November 1984 by the Council. The action areas + patent information, materials data banks, biotechnology information, electronic publishing and image data banks, information for industry, reducing regional discrepancies, library cooperation and Euronet follow-up are briefly described.
