INSTITUZIONE ED AGGIORNAMENTO DEL DOCUMENTO SANITARIO PERSONALE
The Medical Officer in charge of radioprotection surveillance must set up for each worker, exposed to the risk of radiations, a personal health record. This document will contain the findings of the medical examinations, information on work destination, and individual dosimetry data; in addition, the results of complementary analyses and observations yielded in the event of exceptional interventions will be included. Each health record must be kept for at least 30 years after cessation of the work which had brought about the exposure to ionizing radiations; in any case, the record should be kept for the life time of the worker. After having exposed the regulatory criteria (juridical and deontological) which govern the matter, the scheme of the forms used for keeping individual health data is illustrated. Furthermore, the experience of the Medical Service of the JRC-Ispra is proposed, also with regard to the way it should be compiled, and to the manner of communicating the information contained in the personal health files.
