ARE TWO-DIMENSIONAL LAGRANGIAN SIMULATIONS FOR ICR RELATED PHYSICS NECESSARILY A TASK FOR A RESTRICTED CLUB OF SPECIALISTS?
Multi-purpose, two-dimensional Lagrangian fluid codes for Inertial Confinement Fusion can be developed with less effort than is usually anticipated, by employing appropriate techniques, which are reviewed in this Comment. The potentialities of the proposed approach are illustrated with examples concerning fluid instabilities, shock compression of matter and laser - matter interaction.
