PLASMA EDGE DIAGNOSTICS USING OPTICAL METHODS
Based on an analysis of the tasks and the specific needs of plasma edge diagnostics the principles of optical methods, which satisfy these demands, are described. Experimental arrangements and some results are discussed. Main emphasis is given to emission spectroscopy, laser induced fluorescence and atomic beam methods; Thomson scattering of laser radiation and infrared thermography are treated briefly.
