Abstract

Thermodynamic properties such as vapour pressures, heat capacities and enthalpies of formation for UN(s), PuN(s) and (U, Pu)N(s) are critically evaluated. The equations of the vapour pressures and the heat capacities for the three nitrides are assessed. Thermal functions i.e. H**o-T - H**o-298, S**o-T and - (G**0-T-H**o-298)/T and thermodynamic functions for the formation of UN(s), PuN(s) and (U,Pu)N(s), i.e. "TRIANGLE"H**o-fT and "TRIANGLE"G**o-f,-T are calculated.
