Abstract

Monitoring the operation of PV plants should give information on the performance, usefulness and reliability of the PV installation. It should provide also a data base for the design of future projects and identify most promising applications at the present status of technology. In view of these objectives we give the main results from monitoring the EC funded PV plants over a period of more than 2 years. Typical figures of merit are discussed. The monitoring data are also compared with calculations based on some recently proposed models for PV system performance.
