Abstract

The tunability of a high power, long pulse CO-2 laser over a range of more than +-1 GHz from line center was demonstrated. Output energies in excess of 100 J, of which the amplifier is inherently capable were not attainable due to etalon damage caused by feedback from the high gain amplifier.
