Abstract

This synthesis report describes a partEEC funded project on the intercomparison and characterization of a pipe prover. Four EEC member countries participated United Kingdom, France, Belgium and Germany. The intercomparison part of the project showed agreement within 0.04 per cent between the participating laboratories, except for that of France which showed significantly different results. The characterization part of the project showed that there was no significant effect of sphere approach velocity, sphere inflation, flowrate or liquid viscosity within the range of conditions tested.
