Abstract

The 33-S(n,alpha)30 Si cross section has been measured for neutron energies up to 1 MeV. The neutron flux has been determined by the 6-Li(n,alpha) and 235-U(n,f) reactions. A resonance analysis has been performed up to 400 keV neutron energy which yields alpha- widths GAMMA-alpha or values of gGAMMA-nGAMMA-alpha/GAMMA for 16 resolved resonances. Average resonance parameters are discussed and the Maxwellian averaged (n,alpha) cross section is obtained for the temperature range from 10 to 200 keV. Measurements on the 41-Ca(n,alpha)38 Ar reaction are in progress. In these measurements a gridded ion chamber is used to obtain more complete angular rd distributions.
