Abstract

A two-dimensional, quadrangular grid, Lagrangian code, which describes the evolution of a thermo-conducting fluid, has been developed to study hydrodynamic symmetry and stability aspects relevant to inertial confinement fusion. Applications to the Rayleigh-Taylor instability of perfect gases, to laser-matter interaction experiments and to shell implosions are presented.
