FIRST WALL DESIGN FOR TORE SUPRA
Tore Supra possesses a completely water cooled first wall for 30 s long pulse duration at 230 degrees C with 25 MW of additional heating power injection. The first wall is composed of: - water cooled stainless steel panels covering 65 m2 of the external part of the inner vessel having a heat removal capacity of 12 MW, - an actively cooled graphite wall of 13 m2, located on the inner part of the chamber having a heat removal capacity of 13 MW. For independant vessel baking, a 50 KW electrical resistor system located on the inner vessel wall is foreseen.
