Abstract

A parametric stress analysis of NET first wall designs has been performed in order to evaluate the stress levels and distribution due to the thermal loads in operating conditions and to compare the influence of different geometrical parameters. A tight first wall box, enclosing each blanket segment, has been analysed as a first configuration and then compared with a separated first wall panel. Furthermore thermal analyses of different first wall cross-sections proposed for NET have been carried out to provide guidance for the F.W. design.
