Abstract

Two identical neutralbeam injection lines in co- and counter position are provided for additional heating of the tokamak experiment TEXTOR at the KFA Julich GmbH. Each beamline will produce neutralized hydrogen - and in a later phase neutral deuterium - particles of a kinetic energy up to 55 keV, a beam current of 80 ANGSTROEM A which means an injected heating power of approximately 2 x 1.5 = 3.0 MW for a duty cycle (on/off) of 10 s/300 s. This paper presents a survey of the most characteristic design features, layout conditions, technical solutions and data of the neutralbeam injection system which is under design and construction at the present. Detailed descriptions of the mechanical, the electrical and the vacuum components, as well as the cooling system and the control and data acquisition systems are given in other contributions to this conference or were already presented on several other workshops and conferences.
