Abstract

Considerable investment is involved when crops are grown under protection, for example in greenhouses, and therefore it is vital to aim for high returns and to minimise losses from pests and diseases. This book looks at the problem with special emphasis on integrated and biological control methods. It includes sections on: The principal organisms noxious to protected crops; Integrated pest control in protected crops in various European countries; and Effectiveness of biological control techniques and organisms to be used in integrated control programmes. The book is based on papers presented at a conference held under the Integrated Plant Protection Programme of the Commission of the European Communities.
