ELECTRODYNAMIC CONSTRAINTS ON PARTICLE FLOW DRIVEN CURRENTS IN TOKAMAKS
Neoclassical predictions for particle and energy transport in tokamaks are not in general compatible with experiments. Neoclassical theory also makes a closely related prediction concerning the existence of toroidal flow driven currents. It is proposed here an alternative derivation of toroidal flow driven currents, which at the same time provides a phenomenological description (in particular the Coppi-Sharky particle flux) of the observed particle and energy transport.
