DATA MANAGEMENT IN HIGH TEMPERATURE MATERIALS RESEARCH
The paper describes the background and the ways towards the practical realization of a consistent and efficient data management system for High Temperature Materials Research corresponding to the scope of the Commission's Research Programme (1984-1987). The SIR DBMS comprises a HTM Data Bank systematically collecting and storing data on the properties of a selected range of HT materials and a HTM Information Centre collecting, disseminating and exchanging information on the materials concerned. The tools now available are described and a number of revisions within the SIR DBMS system is recommended in order to achieve the final goals of the HTM data management system giving full satisfaction to the user.
