TWO-ZONE MODEL FOR TRANSPORT OF WALL RELEASED IMPURITIES IN THE EDGE PLASMA OF A LIMITER TOKAMAK
The transmission of a Gaussian metal impurity pulse uniformly injected from the torus wall is studied within a two-zone plasma model, which separates the plasma into scrape-off layer and plasma core and allows for discontinuous changes of the plasma parameters at the separatrix. The plasma parameters are supposed to ensure a collision dominated scrape-off plasma, in which case we may restrict the solution of the transport equations to its zero order approximation.
