REPORT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TUNGSTEN HALOGEN LAMP FOR USE AS A SECONDARY STANDARD
The lamps were developed by GEC Hirst Research Centre (General Electric Company). At least four different development steps were necessary to obtain the desired stability. The filaments are designed to give increased field uniformity. Variations of luminous intensity are smaller than 0.5% in an angle of 6circ about the preferred axis. After appropriate aging as recommended in the report, the lamps are suitable for use both as standards of spectral radiance and as standards of illuminance.
