Abstract

A model is proposed for the anomalous thermal transport in tokamaks. The effect of the trapped electron dynamics and of the ion temperature gradient driven modes are taken into account in the electron and respectively ion channels. The model reproduces the Neo Alcator scaling, the saturation of the energy confinement time with density, and recent ion temperature profile measurements performed on Doublet III in the presence of additional heating.
