THE CERTIFICATION OF THE CONTENTS (MASS FRACTION) OF CHLOROBIPHENYLS (IUPAC NOS 28, 52, 101, 118, 138, 153 AND 180) IN TWO FISH OILS
The report describes the preparation of two fish-oil reference materials: Cod liver oil (BCR nr. 349) and Mackerel oil (BCR nr. 350). It deals with the homogeneity and stability tests for these oils in respect of their contents of the seven chlorobiphenyl congeners, CBs IUPAC Nos. 28, 52, 101, 118, 138, 153, 180. The contents (mass fractions) of the CBs are certified. The analytical techniques used in the certification are summarised. All individual results are given and recommendations for the analysis are made. Indicative values for other halogenated organic compounds detected in the fish oils are given.
