Abstract

IDMS IS INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT IN THE PRECISE DETERMINATION OF ELEMENTS AT TRACE LEVELS, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO BIOLOGICAL - HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL APPLICATIONS. A METHOD HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR THE PRECISE AND SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF LEAD, CADMIUM AND THALLIUM AT TRACE LEVEL, ON THE SAME FILAMENT AND IN ANY BIOLOGICAL MATRIX. THIS REDUCES BOTH TIME AND COST OF ANALYSIS. TWO APPLICATIONS OF THE METHOD ARE DESCRIBED, ONE BEING ANALYSIS OF LYOPHILIZED BLOOD SAMPLES, THE OTHER BEING MEASUREMENTS OF CONCENTRATION IN SPIKED SAMPLES OF BOVINE BLOOD.
