Abstract

THE LOBI-MOD2 (LWR OFF-NORMAL BEHAVIOUR INVESTIGATIONS) PROGRAMME PROVIDES EXPERIMENTAL DATA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND ASSESSMENT OF THERMAL-HYDRAULIC CODES USED IN REACTOR SAFETY ANALYSIS. UNDER THE MOD2 CONFIGURATION, THE EXPERIMENTS PERFORMED INCLUDED SMALL BREAK LOSS-OF-COOLANT ACCIDENTS (LOCA), SPECIAL TRANSIENTS TESTS, NATURAL CIRCULATION TESTS AND STEAM GENERATORS SECONDARY SIDE PERFORMANCE AND CHARACTERISATION TESTS. SALIENT TEST RESULTS ARE DESCRIBED. SYSTEM CODE APPLICATION AND ASSESSMENT IS DISCUSSED WITH REFERENCE TO TEST-DESIGN CALCULATIONS, PRE-TEST PREDICTIONS AND POST-TEST ANALYSIS.
