Abstract

THE TOROIDAL SEMICOLLISONAL MICROINSTABILITIES DRIVEN BY TRAPPED ELECTRON DYCS AND ION TEMPERATURE GRADIENTS ARE ANALYSED USING KINETIC THEORY. ANALYTICAL DISPERSION RELATIONS ARE DERIVED AND DISCUSSED WITH A PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE MODELLING OF ANOMALOUS ELECTRON AND ION THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY. THE RELATION WITH PREVIOUSLY DERIVED MODELS OF ANOMALOUS TRANSPORT AND WITH THE EXPERIMENTALLY OBSERVED TRENDS OF THE GLOBAL ENERGY TIME IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
