SECOND HARMONIC EMISSION OF A QUASI-OPTICAL GYROTRON - EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS
A quasi-optical gyrotron designed for operation at the fundamental (100 GHz) exhibits simultaneous emission at 100 and 200 GHz. For a beam current of 4A, 20% of the total RF power is emitted at 200 GHz. In order to understand the influence of the presence of the second harmonic on the operation at the fundamental, an extensive set of measurements has been carried out. A comparison with a theoretical model is presented.
