PRESSURE SENSITIVITY CALIBRATION OF HALF-INCH MICROPHONES BY THE RECIPROCITY TECHNIQUE - SUPPLEMENTARY WORK ON THE 1982-1987 EEC INTERCOMPARISON
Between 1982 and 1987 the European Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) sponsored an intercomparison of half-inch microphone pressure calibrations. This involved 5 laboratories in 4 EEC member countries, in order to assess the consistency of standards. The results showed some unexpectedly large differences between the laboratories, especially at high frequencies. This report describes a further investigation sponsored by the BCR in an attempt to discover the causes of those differences. Further calibrations were made at NPL, DTH and PTB, and although no definite cause of the original disagreement was found, the results from the three laboratories now agree within +-0.05 dB, at all frequencies up to 20 kHz.
