A MODEL FOR THE CALCULATION OF 2-D NEUTRAL TRANSPORT IN NON-CIRCULAR TOKAMAK PLASMAS
A fast, efficient procedure is given for the calculation of the 2-D distribution of neutral particles when the source of primary neutrals is due to point sources, located on or near the plasma surface in non-circular tokamak containment systems. The transport of the neutral particles is described by integral equations for the particle density flux to the wall of the vessel. The equations are reduced to a system of matrix equations which is then solved by numerical iteration. Comparison with more exact treatments of cases that are of particular interest shows good agreement.
