Abstract

The objective of these studies is to help farmers to manage a limited quantity of available water in their farm systems by varying rotations with choice of species depending on soil and climatic conditions. Technical information on parameters for modelling irrigation systems are reviewed with regard to climatic effects, soil effects and water efficiency. The computer aided management of irrigation is discussed, including economic aspects such as plant productivity.
