'EURAPHID' NETWORK - TRAPPING AND APHID PROGNOSISFunded under: FP1-AGRIRES 3C
This publication contains the papers presented and discussed at a meeting held at Catania, Italy, in November 1988, on the establishment of the Euraphid network in the Member States of the European Community. The aim of Euraphid is to monitor aphid populations with a view to improving the defence against this pest, which can cause damage to crops both directly and indirectly through the serious crop diseases which it carries. By the use of a common monitoring system involving suction traps, a collaborative effort on plant protection, a knowledge of aphid population dynamics and the forecasting of aphid invasions, protection against this harmful insect can be significantly improved.
