Abstract

The STARSIS numerical data bank system has been developed in order to provide a software tool for the efficient management of large volumes of numerical data. The user interface consists of a high level programming language, which facilitates the creation, the use and the management of the system. Data which are retrieved from the system may be displayed as graphs or lists on the screen. Arithmetic processing of the data allows the creation of new information. The present report describes the STARSIS system, explains the available STARSIS programming statements and contains many examples in order to help the user to overcome the initial difficulties of working with the system.
