Abstract

The conditions for using the emission and transmission of synchrotron radiation to diagnose the tokamak plasma parameters in the reactor regime are discussed. It is shown that emission of radiation is mainly appropriate for bulk temperature measurements whereas wave transmission can have a much wider application.
