Abstract

During the last decade the Laboratory for Analytical Chemistry assisted in the certification of 31 environmental and food reference materials issued by the BCR. The 10 most frequently certified elements are As, Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Pb, Se and Zn. The Gent Laboratory assisted in their certification, using activation analysis as the main analytical technique. Optical methods (spectrophotometry, absorption spectrometry and emission spectrometry ICP-AES) were also used for analysis.
