Abstract

The purpose of the intercomparison was to examine the ability of those laboratories within the EEC, involved in making spectral power measurements on light sources, to cope with the special difficulties presented by modern high efficiency discharge lamps. The radiation emitted by these lamps has a high intensity and a spectral power distribution consisting of a complex mixture of line and continuum. No previous intercomparison of spectral measurements on lamps of this type has been made.
