  • ACCURATE COULOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF THE URANIUM CONTENT OF URANIUM REFERENCE MATERIALS PART 2: CHEMICAL CALIBRATION OF THE COULOMETER AND APPLICATION OF THE METHOD IN A SPECIFIC CASE

Abstract

It was the intention of the CBNM to use coulometry operated in the controlled potential mode to determine the uranium content of candidate reference materials. For that purpose a coulometer was constructed. The first part of the work performed with this equipment was devoted to a study on the interference of impurities. The determination of the chemical factor of the coulometer is reported, using a certified uranium metal reference material. The verification of the uranium content of an uranium dioxide reference material available in the form of pellets is discussed.
