ACCURATE COULOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF THE URANIUM CONTENT OF URANIUM REFERENCE MATERIALS PART 2: CHEMICAL CALIBRATION OF THE COULOMETER AND APPLICATION OF THE METHOD IN A SPECIFIC CASEFunded under: JRC-NUMEAS 4C
It was the intention of the CBNM to use coulometry operated in the controlled potential mode to determine the uranium content of candidate reference materials. For that purpose a coulometer was constructed. The first part of the work performed with this equipment was devoted to a study on the interference of impurities. The determination of the chemical factor of the coulometer is reported, using a certified uranium metal reference material. The verification of the uranium content of an uranium dioxide reference material available in the form of pellets is discussed.
