The individual reports are summarised in an overall report of the same title. In a previous project PTB and IMGC have shown that a zerodur sphere can be defined as a standard of density with an uncertainty of the order of 1.0 E-6. A sphere previously studied by those two laboratories has then been circulated to seven other laboratories in Member States in the European Community, to verify the usability of the zerodur sphere as a solid density standard. The results agree within 1 ppm and confirm the fact that such spheres can be used as a solid density standard.
