Abstract

The report presents the work done to adapt the technology of cutting by high pressure water jets containing abrasive to the dismantling of nuclear installations. It was necessary to design and develop an automatic remote controlled tool and to perform cutting trials, taking account when necessary of the radioactive nature of the waste produced. This technique, now ready for use, could still be improved by better vision systems and by more efficient systems for the removal of aerosols.
