This report describes the scope and results of the Euratom Neutron Radiography Working Group Test Programme. Seven NR centres from six European Community countries have performed this investigation using eleven NR facilities. Four test items were neutron radiographed using 30 different film/converter combinations. From film density measurements, neutron beam components were determined. Radiographic sensitivity was assessed from visual examinations of the radiographs. About 25,000 dimensional measurements were made and were used to assess the accuracy of dimensional measurements obtained from neutron radiographs. The report gives details of the test items used for the Test Programme, the film density and dimensional measurements, and assesses the measured results. The usefulness of the beam purity and sensitivity indicators give rise to the conclusion that they are not suitable for neutron radiography of nuclear reactor fuel. After a general comparison of the measured results, the influences of different measuring and viewing techniques and processing on measurement accuracies are discussed. Finally human and instrument factors are discussed.
