Abstract

This is a guide for those facing the problem of "sick building syndrome". After a description of other building-related illnesses, the extent of the problem is presented, with particular emphasis on economic implications. The report also deals with the symptoms which must be present in order to make diagnosis of the syndrome possible. Various environmental and personal factors which may possibly contribute to the development of the trouble are discussed. Finally, a detailed step-by-step procedure for the detection and mitigation of the most frequently observed causes is presented.
