DC transport critical currents have been measured on Y(1), Ba(2), Cu(3), O(7) pellets, sintered under different conditions. Samples with a density ranging from 3.8 to 5.42 g/cm3 have been investigated. The magnetic field dependence of the critical current has been measured at liquid nitrogen temperature. High density samples, sintered at temperatures exceeding 950 C, exhibit lower critical current density and a stronger dependence upon a weak magnetic field.
