The certification of the content of N, P, S and Cl in beech leaves (CRM 100 - Fagus silvatica) and Al, Ca, Mg, Zn, N, P, S and Cl in spruce needles (CRM 101 - Picea abies)Funded under: FP2-BCR 4
The estimation of forest damage can be made on a quantitative basis. Chemical analysis of leaves or needles and soil can be used to investigate the cause of a tree's illness. Reference materials are necessary to achieve accurate results. Beech leaves (Fagus silvatica) CRM No.100 and spruce needles (Picea abies) CRM No.101 were collected and prepared as reference materials. Homogeneity and stability studies were carried out on these materials. The analytical techniques used and the results obtained are discussed. The certified values in CRM 100 and CRM 101 are given.
