JET contributions to the workshop on the new phase for JET : The pumped divertor proposal (25th-26th September 1989)
The present status of the work on JET relevant to the proposal for a pumped divertor is summarised in a series of reports. Topics covered include modelling studies, experimental evidence from the present X-point operation, the configuration required to confine impurities in the vicinity of the target plate, stabilisation of the vertical plasma position and descriptions of the divertor coil and cryopump. Other technical papers consider high heat flux components, the ICRH antenna and modifications to the lower hybrid system. Finally, diagnostic measurements of the pumped divertor plasma are considered and performance expectations are set out.
