This intercomparison deals with measurements of power flux densities in both radio (27 MHz) and microwave frequency ranges (2.45 GHz), the power levels (1, 10 and 50 mW/cm2) being chosen to cover the range of the EEC directives regulating health protection. Two different types of broadband power flux monitors were circulated among some of the EEC national laboratories: the first having an E-type probe, the second an H-type probe. The results of the measurements were largely consistent, the agreement being generally within +/- 10%. It should however be stressed that the boundary conditions of the measurements were not typical of most field cases, as the structure of the calibration field was well known and only the probes, not the cables and amplifiers, were exposed to the EM field.
