Abstract

Correspondence Factor Analysis (CFA) is a multivariate approach allowing the display of the rows and columns of a data matrix as points in dual low-dimensional vector spaces. The goal of this paper is to provide the key theoretical aspects of this analysis and stress its heuristic potency in environmental SAR and QSAR studies. The biplot representation can be used in eco-toxicology to perform classical SAR studies to find relationships between the structure of a pollutant and its theoretical distribution in the environment, to compare toxicity results or to generate molecular descriptors for QSAR studies.
